Mellow Yellow Lazer Print: Further work in Progress 2011

Bust (we dont need another hero): Lazer Print on yellow paper 2011

A Nameless Fear: unique xerox on rose pink paper 2011

A few experiments I have been playing with using different Colour Papers as Lazer Prints and Xerox's. I have started to rescan them and increase the scale of the images as re-printed Giclee prints. Its all very process driven and as always Ifinding some happy little accidents along the way.

The Midas Touch: Work in Progress 2011

I have had some intense sessions in the dark room over the past 3 weeks!! (naughty) I have been pushing the unique c-types further and recently ordered a new dark room paper that Kodak produce which is metallic and has a glossy iridescence to it.  I have been creating precious metal inspired colour casts with the colour filters. my favorite so far is the gold which i am holding in the top image. Last week I was hanging out at Studio Key which is the most beautiful studio space that my Friend Charles Moriarty runs (that him in the bottom pic). I regularly shoot there but this time I was using the vast space to view my work. Im getting very excited of how the project is looking but i still want to do so much more. Think its going to be an ongoing ten year project!

Working on various video installations to co-exsit with the new photo-sculptural work.

Artist Talk At the London College of Communication Feb 15/02/11

Yesterday I gave Talk to 100+ students in 2 parts. The first part being about my work to date, and the second advice on how to keep motivated and proactive after graduating. I love talking to students as you get a real sense their energy, enthusiasm and ideas. An environment I have amazing memories from and has been integral to my development as an artist.

The Tension of My Own Endurance 2010 (Video Still)

The Tension of My Own Endurance 2010

This is a sneak peek of some new moving image work that is currently in production during my time in New York. Its an extension of my early video work, but here I'm fusing both still and moving image together to create a moving Painting. The main source of inspiration has been drawn has been from a long time love affair with Francis Bacon's Paintings. For me when ever I have the opportunity to his paintings in the flesh, they appear to be alive and moving but at the same time very still, as if oscillating on the very surface of the painting. This notion is my starting point but also part of the conclusion.

More Xerox Experiments................ This time turning the camera to the point of view of Moi. Here I've begun to treat and use the Photocopier as my darkroom, treating each image as a unique object, and producing images though the intuitive nature of controlled chance.

Xerox 2009

The Twins 2009

Finally entering the digital age.....

........Well sort of, I'm experimenting with the photocopier as an Image Making Machine, creating visual accidents. These images are then enlarged on a bigger scale to give this insignificant object, a body, a space and a meaning.

Work in Progress New York 2009

These are some Unique C-Types prints that are a continuation of ideas from my previous work. I have been printing form both my own and found negatives to start to create a dialogue between my previous bodies of work. These images are printed on a much smaller scale to start with and act as artist studies for the final unique c-types.
